REFLECTION
Above are some outcomes from a year 8 class that I taught whilst on placement. The students used the slip-and-score technique to create their pottery, assembling the parts together using templates. Teaching a class of 30 students the art of working with clay presented a number of challenges that required careful planning and organisation. The outcomes of their efforts were effective and demonstrated their individual creativity. Additionally, some students chose to further personalise their pots by painting unique designs on them during the glazing process. Directing the students through this process and seeing the diverse range of outcomes they produced was an extremely rewarding experience.
