I'm captivated by the intricate relationship between photography and memory, exploring how we visualise our past and the profound impact of everyday imagery on our lives. Photography freezes time, yet our memory of it remains fluid and ever-changing, shaped by the infiltration of advertisements, product imagery, films, and visuals. Even scenes we've never directly experienced can feel strangely familiar. Through my work, I aim to visually express my interpretation of memory and shed light on the limitations of capturing events through photography. I emphasise the unique connection between colour and memory, exploring its potential for manipulation.

The convergence of photography and painting bridges the gap between the past and the present, revealing an intriguing dynamic. Working with images that no longer exist prompts introspection about the choices we make. Why paint something a certain colour? or why highlight one element while overlooking another? These questions delve into the nature of reality, truth, and our association with a consumerist world shaped by possessions and advertisements. Photography speaks a universal language, evoking a range of emotions from happiness and grief to sadness, enlightenment, and joy. It possesses the power to shape our experiences and influence our thoughts and memories. Through my art, I seek to deepen the relationship we share with visual imagery by exploring its emotive aspects in conjunction with memory.

In my ongoing artistic journey, I embrace the boundless possibilities presented by screen printing and other techniques, seamlessly blending the realms between different mediums. Inspired by the ever-expanding visual culture, I aspire to capture the essence of our interconnected world. Drawing inspiration from diverse sources such as films, advertisements, and the vast expanse of the web, I weave together a tapestry of images that reflect the intricate complexities of contemporary life.

My work is driven by the transformative power of technology and the significant influence imagery has on our collective consciousness. It serves as a catalyst, sparking introspection and prompting a re-examination of our perceptions. By provoking thought and encouraging viewers to reflect on their relationship with the visual culture that surrounds them, I strive to evoke profound emotional responses.

In a society inundated with visual stimuli, I attempt to attentively embrace the ever-evolving landscape of visual culture. Recognising the profound impact of images on our experiences and memories, I invite viewers on an immersive journey of self-reflection. With each brushstroke and print, we explore the intricate link between our perception of reality and the images that shape it.
